Overview

At a mere 88 x 110mm, ADI Engineering’s innovative new Cinnamon Bay SBC product line is the industry’s smallest and lowest cost family of full-function embedded Single Board Computers (SBCs) for the new Intel® Atom Z510P, Z530P and extended temperature Z520PT processors. ADI’s Cinnamon Bay SBC family consists of three models targeting a wide range of deeply embedded applications such as IP media, interactive kiosks, panel PCs, digital signage, thin clients, military, medical, wireless access, industrial controls, general-purpose embedded computing, gaming, and point of sale (PoS) terminals. The new Intel Atom Z5xxP processor line allows Cinnamon Bay SBC to offer innovative new features such as -40 to +85C extended temperature operation, Power over Ethernet, and lower price points than competitive products.

Cinnamon Bay SBC can be used standalone in many applications, since common interfaces and standard connectors are included on the single board. When expansion is required, one of ADI’s off-the-shelf daughtercards, or a custom application-specific one, can be added to meet unique requirements for HD or SD video, audio, networking, and other features—transforming Cinnamon Bay into a differentiated end product with low cost and quick time to market.

Cinnamon Bay Video Development Kit

ADI Engineering’s Video Development Kit is a complete development system for customers using one of ADI’s already supported LCD panels. The kit includes a Cinnamon Bay board, 10.4” CCFL backlit LCD, touchscreen, backlight inverter, HDD with Linux and Windows Embedded Standard preinstalled, 802.3at PoE+ and conventional power supplies all mounted on a folding acrylic base. The kit also includes documentation, cables, and other accessories, and it comes fully assembled and tested, so you can immediately start developing with Cinnamon Bay SBC.

Open IP Design Source Kits

ADI's Open IP Design Source Kits provide everything you need to build or modify Cinnamon Bay yourself – hardware CAD source files (schematic, PCB layout), firmware and software (BIOS, OS's, drivers, etc.), bill of materials, test code, documentation, design and manufacturing licenses, and engineering support from ADI.  By establishing a path to customer design licensing and self-manufacturing, ADI's Open IP Design Source Kits restore customer control lost in other COTS approaches.
