ADI Engineering builds rapid prototypes as an integral element of our custom design projects.
Rapid prototyping provides early hardware that is critical for design validation and testing, software integration, regulatory certification, and client demonstration to key end customers prior to volume production.
ADI has developed a highly tuned prototyping process to meet the unique challenges of materials management and low-volume, quick-turn manufacturing typical during the prototyping stage:
- ADI’s dedicated materials procurement specialists and production operations professionals work hand-in-hand with internal design teams, parts vendors, and factories
- ADI identifies long leadtime components early during the hardware design process, and our procurement team orders and expedites parts in parallel with design completion
- Our procurement specialists work to minimize component minimum purchase quantities which can have a large impact on prototype expense
- ADI maintains strong relationships with leading quick-turn printed circuit board fabrication houses and factories specializing in high-mix, low-volume prototype assembly, providing our customers access to reliable prototype manufacturing resources
- Our product design teams define optimal test strategies for prototypes, when full manufacturing test capabilities for the product usually have not yet been developed
