IP Media products – encoding, decoding, displaying, capturing, storing and transporting media content over IP networks – are rapidly growing in popularity. ADI serves more highly integrated, higher performing IP Media applications with fully custom designs or by leveraging our Canmore CE3100 media processor engagement with Intel and our proven design expertise on this processor. Canmore represents the start of a major initiative within Intel to bring x86 CPU technology into the media processor market. Canmore integrates an x86 core with extensive on-chip graphics and IP media capabilities, making it ideally suited for many demanding IP set-top box and other IP Media applications. However, the extensive support required of customers using Canmore means there are high hurdles to cross to gain access to this market-leading chip. ADI stands alone as the only Intel partner company offering custom design-through-production services that has cleared this hurdle for the purpose of supporting OEMs that Intel normally would be unable to support directly. ADI has successfully designed and built complex, cost-sensitive IP Media products using this trend-setting processor.
